We were there again! Following up on 2023’s participation, BeQCI had the chance to showcase their results at the annual imec’s international event, ITF World & Flanders 2024, held in Antwerp on the 21st and 22nd of May. The event gathers major stakeholders from all over the world interested in the work and research performed at imec.
A whole, central booth was dedicated to emerging quantum technologies, in which imec is directly involved through, among others, the BeQCI project. The BeQCI project proudly presented the milestones achieved so far both on the implementation and on the research side.
Cédric Bruynsteen, senior researcher at IDLab in Gent, and Giacomo Carrara, ecosystem manager at UGent for the BeQCI project, hosted a demo of a photonic and electronic integrated chip which can be used for quantum cryptographic applications, with the prospective of making QKD equipment cheap and scalable. The booth was also an occasion to inform the attendees of the event about the project in general and about the recent results and achievements
The booth attracted the interest of many stakeholders, among which we note Luc Van den hove, CEO of imec, interested in the development of quantum technologies in Belgium.
