At the annual ITF World & Flanders 2023 event, organized and hosted by imec in Antwerp between the 16th an the 17th of May 2023, BeQCI was there to introduce the public to the wonders of quantum cryptography. The event gathers every year a wide pool of stakeholders, interested in the research performed by imec, project coordinator of BeQCI.
Karel Dumon, project manager of BeQCI and Dries Van Thourhout, professor at the Photonics Research Group in Gent, associated with imec, hosted part of the booth dedicated to quantum technologies, with a focus on quantum communication.
The booth included a demo of functioning Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) devices, provided by Toshiba, one of the leaders in the QKD market, to showcase the level of maturity of QKD technology, ready to be deployed on the field.
