Lecture on QKD by Marco Avesani

We were happy to organize, together with UGent students’ association VVN (Vereiniging voor Natuurkunde), an inspiring lecture, aimed at Physics Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students, to introduce the next generation of physics students to the fascinating field of Quantum Key Distribution.

For the occasion, we invited Dr. Marco Avesani, postdoc at the University of Padua and co-founder of the QKD provider ThinkQuantum, who gave his unique prospective on QKD and on the challenges of migrating from academic prototypes to industrial devices.

The lecture took place at the Auditorium A0 in UGent’s Campus de Sterre in Gent on the 22nd of October at 20:00. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the students and was a great chance to give visibility to the BeQCI project and to the field of QKD in general.

The effort of BeQCI to attract the interest of future student will continue with this and other initiatives!
