On the 17th of January 2023 the BeQCI project was officially inaugurated with a kick-off meeting. The meeting saw the gathering of all the partners involved in the project for discussions, talks and networking.The meeting was hosted in Belnet’s premises and lasted a full day, featuring a wide variety of presentations from the partners and from external, invited speakers.
All work package leaders had the time to extensively show the planned work and the challenges and prospective for the future. The event also saw the participation of Arnaud Vajda, Chairman of the Board of BELSPO (Belgian Science Policy Office), co-funding the project together with the European Commission.
The invited guest speakers Jan-Pieter D’Anvers, researcher at KULeuven in post-quantum cryptography and Joshua Slater, CTO at Q*bird, a dutch company which develops state-of-the art QKD technology.
More than anything else, the meeting was a wonderful occasion to facilitate networking among the partners of the project, who got to know each other a little more, for a fruitful collaboration for the success of the project!
